Head Lice Information

A student found to have nits in his/her head may remain in school.  The parent is notified of the findings.  The decision to take the child home is left to the discretion of the parent.  The student/parent is provided with information regarding hair care and home care.

• If a student is found to have live lice in his/her head the parent is notified.  The student will be sent home.  The parent will be provided with information regarding hair care and home care.
• Room checks are not done.
• Letters are not sent home.  This is to protect the privacy and confidentiality of the student.
