Social Workers
All of the District 126 schools has a social worker on staff to help address the social and emotional issues that may impede students’ academic progress. Social workers are trained to think of innovative solutions to complex social emotional problems. The district’s social workers may support students individually, in small groups, or support the entire class depending on needs. Social workers play an integral role in each school’s positive behavioral support committee, the Character Counts Program, executive functioning committee, and social communication implementation.
Community Based Counseling
There are times when parents want to access counseling outside of school based supports and we have an option for those who do want to do that. As an associate district of High School District 218, our families have access to the School House Counseling Center, which provides the following In-Person and Telehealth Services:
Individual Counseling
Family Counseling
Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management
You can reach them at HARTGROVESCHOOLHOUSECOUNSELING@UHSINC.COM
or by calling (773) 365-1012.
